Roles and Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for the facility in IL. This position is the technical team leader for three engineers in the development of systems and components for large mining shovels. The position is responsible for design and development of proprietary

components to support the mining shovel buckets. Development activities include system sizing, component solid model creation, system design & development, system integration into shovel bucket designs, sourcing support and support of validation.
Success factors for the Senior Engineer - Design include demonstrating excellent analytical skills and a mastery of engineering concepts. Major challenges facing incumbents are meeting goals for cost, reliability, and performance, and managing multiple priorities. This position must keep up-to-date on changing customer needs as the project progresses, stay current with new technology, and provide guidance and direction on the project to less experienced engineers, technologists, and technicians. Incumbents may be expected to bear significant responsibility for completion of a project with major focus on delivery. Experience in engine installation, design, development, or analysis is required. Must also have experience working with solid modeling programs such as Pro-E and Vis-View.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Candidates with Engineering Technology degrees will not be considered).
- 5+ years experience in ground engaging tool product design and development.
- Product development experience utilizing 6 Sigma DMEDI processes.
- Knowledge of Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD) and Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP) processes.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, team work and problem solving skills.
