Community Relations Specialist (Chicopee, MA/E. Windsor CT Area) Watkins Strategies LLC (www.watkinsstrategies.com)   The candidate's primary responsibility will be to effectively address concerns raised by abutters to a major construction project route. The candidate would be responsible for keeping key stakeholders informed of construction schedule information and potential impacts by hand-delivering notices to abutters along the project construction route as well as being on site to help resolve issues and coordinate with local businesses. The position involves significant interaction on site along the largely residential project route. All contacts with abutters need to be well documented and submitted to the client daily.

You will be working as part of a team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills as well as solid presentation and document organization skills. Good computer skills are a must.

Prior experience handling constituent services (campaign work or public office) or public relations within the construction field is a plus. One to three years of experience with proven experience in customer interaction, constituent services and solid issue/resolution skills. Media relations skills are a plus as the employer operates a full service public relations agency. The project is anticipated to last for approximately 1-2 more years and opportunities to grow with the company could exist after the project.

Project parameters include Bloomfield, East Granby, and Suffield, CT., as well as Massachusetts towns spanning Ludlow, Chicopee, W. Springfield, Springfield, and Agawam. This candidate would be located in the Chicopee, MA and East Windsor/Enfield, CT offices and spend about 60% of their time on job sites.
