Job Description-Overview :

Cummings School marketing department is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications operations for the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. The marketing department creates and implements marketing strategies and programs designed to further advance the reputation of the Cummings School and its teaching hospitals. Additionally, the marketing department works closely with the teaching hospitals to maintain and generate additional client demand for the institution's clinical services. As part of this function, online marketing and the Cummings School web site serve as a primary means of communication and business development for the school and its teaching hospitals. Key audiences served by online marketing programs and the web site include: prospective and current students, alumni, faculty and staff, donors, alternative funding sources, research community, government officials and future hospital clientele.

The Marketing Coordinator will leverage his/her marketing/sales background, be technically savvy and possess a keen ability to multi-task to support and manage daily marketing tasks as directed by the Marketing Manager and Cummings School strategic marketing plan initiatives.

The Marketing Coordinator will support and manage day-to-day marketing needs under direct supervision of the Marketing Manager and will also take direction from the Hospital Medical Director on hospital related marketing programs. This employee will be responsible for:

  • Numerous general marketing program support tasks and project work,
  • Online communications/HTML newsletter creation and deployment,
  • Social media marketing,
  • Hospital programs support tasks,
  • Project work and administrative duties that support both the Marketing Manager and The Office of Marketing.

Job Description - Requirements :

Basic Requirements: Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2 years of sales/marketing experience. Knowledge of standard office procedures including being a "Super user" of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PPT, Access).

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 2 - 3 years of client relations experience preferred. Broadcast email experience, i.e. constant contact, mail chimp or the like. Light HTML skills.
