JOB DESCRIPTION:
Indrotec is currently seeking a Machinist to work with our Client in Anoka, MN. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to work with a recognized leading manufacturer of quality ophthalmic lenses. We are looking for someone who is looking to grow their career with a company. Recent Technical or Trade School Graduates are encouraged to apply.

Hired person will be creating molds and various prototypes from blueprint to project completion. We are looking for someone who has a strong desire to learn various machines. Experience with 2D and 3D CAD/CAM is a must as well as a good understanding of SolidWorks. Candidates will need to be able to take a drawing from SolidWorks to production with minimal supervision.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
With minimal supervision, sets up and operates CNC milling machines and lathes along with other standard machine shop equipment. This position assists in the design and fabrication of fixtures, tooling and experimental parts – some to very tight tolerances.

  • Builds and/or modifies equipment in accordance to established specifications to meet specific project requirements.
  • Repairs and/or modifies existing equipment in accordance with established specifications and procedures.
  • Assembles or assists in the assembly of experimental apparatus according to engineering instructions and technical manuals.
  • Assist in record keeping, to include schematics, mechanical drawings, documentary photographs and sketches.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated ability to:
  • Set-up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and other machine tools to fabricate parts – some to tight tolerances.
    • Proficiently execute programming in 2D and 3D CAD/CAM.
  • Construct parts from blueprints
  • Set up and operate numerically controlled machines, lathes, drills and other related equipment to fabricate parts.
  • Read schematics, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required.
  • Technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 30 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
