Mechanical Design/Mod Engineer with Turbine and Crane experience
Must have Design Engineer Experience, Modification Experience and qualified. Experience with Turbines and Cranes at a nuclear plant.
Since the crane upgrade & addition are related to the U2 turbine replacement project, additional engineering scope may be assigned to support the turbine replacement project. Included in the scope of engineering support for the turbine replacement project: Assist preparation and development of the modification package to support turbine replacement. Preparation, evaluation and review of piping configuration, pipe stress, and pipe support calculations associated with turbine modification. Perform piping analysis, pipe support and pipe stress analysis and or assessment to facilitate replacement of the inner casing for the LP and the casing for the HP turbine. Piping review and analysis shall consider possible replacement of all extraction steam piping expansion joints. Prepare Modification Package for piping activities including preparation of input for 50.59. Interface with the turbine vendor and turbine modification engineer to coordinate all activities associated with piping review and preparation of the modification package. Preparation and development of related design changes for modifications in accordance with approved company’s design change programs. Development of lifting and rigging plans. Evaluation, analysis and development of floor loading for component laydown and staging, in concert with the structural analysis for additional cranes and/or loads. Development of any design change packages necessary to implement modifications needed to meet floor loading requirements. Evaluation of haul path routes and interference removal. Development of design packages, studies and analyses to support turbine crane bay door enlargement. Design and development of staging and shipping fixtures for new and existing components.
