Substitute Teachers play an important role in our schools by stepping in to make sure that quality education, effective classroom management, and school policy and procedures continue in the absence of the assigned classroom teachers.

Position Minimum Qualifications:

To serve as a substitute teacher in the state of Ohio you must possess a 4-year college degree, eligibility to receive a short-term or long-term Substitute Teacher License and a clean criminal background (verified through a FBI/BCI background check). 

Rachel Wixey & Associates minimum requirements include three positive work references and additional school related training including: Blood-borne pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness and Bullying. Trainings will be completed prior to the first day of work.

Desired Candidate Profile: 

We look for Substitute Teacher Candidates who have demonstrated integrity, reliability, a positive attitude; and a dedication to the students the district serves. Previous work experience in a school setting is preferred, though not required.

Assignment Detail:

As needed for the 2012-2013 school year. 

$75.00 per day

Substitute Teachers receive enrollment in State Teacher's Retirement System (STRS) and options for Minor Medical benefit are available.
