Help us grow Destination ImagiNation© in Delaware!

We are a not-for-profit educational program with a 26 year history of facilitating distinctive learning experiences for students of all ages.  Teamwork, creativity, and problem solving all wrapped up in a fun and engaging approach—that’s what we do!  And we’re looking for someone to help us grow our program in Delaware.

The State Leader must be available immediately through July 2010 and should be based  in or near the Wilmington/Dover/Seaford area. The State Leader will work from their location, but will be expected to travel and be able to communicate with school systems around the state. We will count on you to have exceptional abilities and an established network and knowledge base of local and area schools and educational systems. 

Main Responsibilities:

·         Work with and effectively represent  established Destination ImagiNation programs and processes

·         Recruit no less than 50 elementary through HS teams to participate in a Spring 2010 State tournament and celebration.

·         Recruit, train and support volunteer Team Managers.

·         Represent Destination ImagiNation at conferences, events and one-on-one meetings.

·         Run Statewide Tournament in Spring 2010, securing site, recruiting and training volunteer officials, and managing all logistics

·         Manage related administrative duties, including tracking teams and contacts.

·         Attend State Leader training provided by Destination Imagination

 

This position requires a highly motivated individual who is able to understand a complex organization and learn quickly. It also requires the ability to work within tight deadlines. With excellent organization, communication and recruiting skills the ideal candidate will also have an eye for detail.

·         Leadership and team facilitation Training and presentation skills

·         Knowledge and credibility with community and state education systems

·         Professional networking and communication (schools, students, parents, businesses)

·         Impeccable record of working with children

A base stipend plus recruiting bonuses/incentives are available for this contract position.
