This position is responsible for maximizing sales of the Non-majors biology and Environmental Science lists across all channels. This includes strategically positioning products and the product line by influencing the synchronization of product development, promotional media and sales efforts in the form of successful implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan.
Create the marketing plans and manage all advertising and promotional campaigns. Develop and present sales tools, product kits, competitive information and training programs for sales force. Analyze and develop new and existing markets through campus and convention travel. Develop and maintain sales tracking systems for key titles and adoptions. Develop and create strategies for conventions and other special selling events. Develop, implement, manage and analyze all marketing and competitive strategies and programs for assigned product line. Participate in the planning of all market research. Guide revisions and development of new product. Participate in acquisitions, as needed. Plan and maintain all expenditures within budget.
Dollar responsibilities:
Budgets include: Travel & expense, NSM budget, promotions, event marketing
Supervisory responsibilities:
Indirect supervision of a Marketing Coordinator
Related work experience:
Two years publishing sales experience necessary
Formal education or equivalent:
BA required. Prior experience in college publishing with a knowledge of the marketing and editorial processes preferred.
Skills:
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills needed to strategize ideas in a team environment. Flexible, resourceful and willingness to contribute new ideas important.
