Senior Product Line Product Manager, Mobile Computers - Purpose of the Job:

The basic function of this position is to manage all aspects of mobile computer products after launch toward meeting goals set forth in the product development business case. This includes monitor and track product success in intended markets and drive appropriate programs to ensure success as well as increase market opportunity and penetration through new programs. This may include all hardware, peripherals and software components. This role also manages the development of sales tools and training of key personnel to meet or exceed customer expectations in targeted industries.

Principal responsibilities, duties and tasks of the job:

1. Identify, quantify and develop plans for market based opportunities. Ensure that assigned product is being targeted at most appropriate markets and alignment with channel sales capability.
2. Reports and analyzes monthly product business performance (KPI’s). Manages product line according to profitability targets.
3. Plans and oversees product marketing programs including sales tools, promotion (awareness and lead gen), and channel programs in support of business objectives.
4. Initiates & drives sales campaigns, engages with marketing communications, sales and theater managers to improve product business performance where and when needed.
5. Provides interface and assistance to the sales and systems organization for solution features, pricing, justifications, etc.
6. Responsible for developing presentations and collateral material for use by the Intermec sales force.
7. Acts as the principal point of information for Intermec sales channels’
8. Responsible for analysis of relevant competitive products in the Mobile Computer marketplace. Uses the results of this analysis to provide competitive information and responses to Intermec sales channels and in the development of product strategies, priorities, advertising and promotions.
9. Provide monthly status reports to the management on all current initiatives and programs.
10. Monitors and analyzes customer feature requests, market trends, determines potential product line deficiencies. Recommends and drives product enhancements in order to extend the product lifecycle.
11. Business case development regarding incoming feature and product line enhancement requests.
12. Develops and manages product catalogs and product migration programs.
13. Responsible for the content, form, and effectiveness of all life-cycle product training programs.
14. Provides direction and guidance to Associate Product Managers and/or Product Managers.

Education: BS/BA in Computer Science, Business/Marketing

Experience: Minimum of 8 years experience in a technical or marketing area such as product management, marketing, sales, and/or operations management.

Special Skills:
• Knowledge of the use of micro/portable computing solutions in use in vertical market applications
• Knowledge of software systems, communications and user interfaces
• Ability to build market models and lead cross-functionally to attain model targets
• Ability to provide direction and guidance to Associate Product Managers or Product Managers.
• Ability to develop and execute product lifecycle strategies
• Broad knowledge of new markets and customers.
• Understanding of Information Technology markets and trends. Ability to research and gain valuable insight.
• Ability to manage complex and multi-departmental projects.
• Sound working knowledge of all aspects of product management is required, along with analytical, organizational and problem solving abilities.
