Join our behavioral health programs and play an important role on the women’s recovery team. We seek candidates with experience in addictions for a clinical opportunity in our Jamaica Plain Women's Treatment Center. Bilingual/ bicultural abilities in Spanish/ English strongly preferred.
Job Title: Substance Abuse Clinician
Department: Behavioral Health
Program: Kitty Dukakis Women’s Treatment Center
Schedule: 40 hours, includes Weekend and Evening Coverage
Reports to: Program Manager
Summary of Position: Provides case management and psychosocial assessments for assigned program participants; provides individual and group counseling; assists in the development and implementation of cognitive/behavior treatment groups; develops individual treatment plans and monitors the same; and maintains case records. In collaboration with the Aftercare Coordinator, assists clients with discharge planning and placement, including the development of community support and after care systems. Assists in crisis prevention/intervention and milieu management.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- Masters in social work, counseling, psychology or mental health and a minimum of one year of supervised substance abuse experience; or
- CADAC/LADC or Undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of three years supervised substance abuse experience working with substance abuse and dually diagnosed populations
- Experience with facilitating didactic and cognitive groups.
- Bilingual/bicultural Spanish/English abilities are preferred
Basic Knowledge/Skills
- Must have extensive and demonstrated knowledge of substance abuse, group process,
- homeless issues and community resources, including HIV/AIDS and mental health.
- Knowledge of developmental stages through the life span and gender specific issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage high volume of client
- related paperwork.
- Highly developed professional ethics and boundaries.
- High degree of organizational ability and analytical skills.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, data base and email.
Salary Range: $38,000-$40,000 commensurate with qualifications.
