Job Title:         Day Shift Assistant Supervisor

Schedule:        7AM-3PM, Tuesday-Saturday 

Reports to:     Day Shift Supervisor

 

Summary of Position: Responsible for directly supervising the emergency shelter work crew. Responsible for the completion of the work crew payroll and weekly work schedule. Supervise the overall operation of the emergency shelter on all assigned shifts in the absence of the Shift Supervisor. Provide direct care services to guests. Major responsibilities include ensuring that the shift is run in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as maintaining a clean and safe environment.

 

Qualifications:

Required: Knowledge and understanding of mental illness and addiction as well as all issues related to homelessness. Previous experience working in a human service setting. Possess some working knowledge of custodial operations and physical plant procedures. Ability to coordinate the effort of others in accomplishing assigned work objectives. Strong leadership skills which include the ability to respond appropriately to crisis, demonstrate good judgment in regard to decision making and give direction to staff as needed. Ability to write reports clearly and compute numbers efficiently. Well defined ethics and boundaries. Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, data base and email. CPR, CPI certified or willingness to become certified upon hire.

 

Preferred: One year or more of supervisory experience.
