Intermec is seeking to hire a Sr. Manager Industry Analyst - Market Intelligence based at our Global Headquarters in Everett, WA.
JOB SUMMARY:
Overall responsibilities includes proactively developing and managing Intermec’s global industry analyst relations program for external and internal audiences and conducting market research and analysis of Intermec’s core markets.
This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship between Intermec and industry analysts through proactive, regular communication and linkages at all levels in the organization. The position gathers, organizes, and analyzes market and competitive information to identify industry trends and develop insights that drive business, product, and strategy decisions.
Also, the position is responsible for researching new industry opportunities and providing regular industry and competitive analysis reports.
This job must be carried out in compliance with Intermec’s Standards of Conduct.
Specific Responsibilities
. Formulate and align the global industry analyst relations program with key stakeholders in the organization
. Build, sustain, and deepen relationships with industry analyst firms on a global scale, including Gartner, Forrester, and AMR
. Secure and staff all inquiries and briefings ensuring responsive support, effective communication, and relationship development
. Prepare and educate spokespeople on the analysts and their respective firms for all briefings
. Review research methodologies and other data gathering activities of firms to the interest of Intermec
. Review, summarize and disseminate qualitative and quantitative research to the organization real time
. Analyze and broadly communicate market, industry, and competitive information and trends
. Conduct primary and secondary research using internal and external resources to support business/product strategy development, product requirements, marketing plans, and business decisions
. Maintain complete and accurate competitive intelligence data bases, including competitor(s) size, sales volumes, distribution network, product strategies, promotional actions, strengths, and weaknesses
. Maintain complete and accurate market intelligence data bases including market size, market share, and projected market growth
. Conduct research and analysis of new market opportunities to provide marketing with findings and supporting data for the development of new products or service offerings and pricing recommendations
. Identify and analyze industry trends and the implications for Intermec
. Establish and maintain metrics and benchmarks
Requirements
. Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
. 3-5 years of experience in marketing, sales, or related field with emphasis on market / competitive research working in a technology based business to business environment
. 3-5 years of experience in industry analyst relations
. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
. Ability to effectively interface and communicate with all levels in the organization
. Demonstrated ability to establish and build relationships with industry analysts, third parties, and customers
. Proven track record of results
. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities using complex data sets
. Extensive knowledge of research resources, search engines, and third party services
. Mastery of statistical research methodologies
. Strong team work skills
. Demonstrated initiative
. High integrity
. Strong technical background preferred
. Travel 10-30%
