The Position: The Renewable Construction Director of Estimating is responsible for leadership and direction of all estimating requirements for business development and project implementation. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Construction Services. In addition to the leadership role, this position will:
· Lead all estimating initiatives for solar and wind energy projects that include site development, engineering design and construction.
· Work with Sr. Vice President of construction to determine types of projects to bid and establish bidding strategies;
· Maintain budgeted backlog and continuity of work;
· Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project bids;
· Include all safety requirements in construction bids;
· Supervise estimating professionals;
· Travel to meet with potential customers. Participate in negotiating final pricing, contracts, change orders, and other business development responsibilities as required;
· Attend pre-construction planning and post-construction analysis meetings;
· Establish sources of business in coordination with company Business Development teams;
· Work with Project Controls as needed to develop competitive and accurate project estimates.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business or Construction Management preferred (continuing education in construction highly desirable).
· Minimum of 12 years of construction experience with at least 8 years in estimating.
· Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory/management capacity leading a large-scale construction estimating unit.
· PE (Professional Engineer) certification desirable.
· OSHA 10 hour required.
· Valid driver’s license required.
· This position requires 75% travel.
