Duties: Highly visible role leading a group of talented telecommunications professionals supporting a 24x7 fast paced environment for a thriving and profitable organization with strong market share. Responsible for improving entire customer experience and managing telecommunications, personnel (including performance and salary reviews), datastreams, and consultants or vendors. Maintain and enhance Telecommunications Architecture, including driving standards, technology life-cycle management and future state direction. Follow change management protocols; direct documentation activities regarding business needs, research technology and technical solutions. Maintain knowledge of best practices surrounding IT technology, continuous improvement, processes, applications development and support. Oversee development of IT policies & procedures. Oversee management and oversight of Telecommunications project prioritization and execution. Responsible for relationship of hosting service provider and connectivity of equipment in external environments. Assist in developing strategies for hiring, training, development and succession planning.
Ideal Background: 10+ years IT Telecommunications experience and management of dispersed distribution environments. Solid technical knowledge in AVAYA, VOIP, PBX, cabling, Broadband, T1's and assorted topologies. Knowledge of Unix, AIX Websphere. MS.Net and AS400 platforms helpful, but not required. Bachelor's degree required, Masters/MBA preferred. Large-scale vendor management and contract negotiation experience also required. Must still be hands-on with telecom, yet have leadership, strategic thinking and executive communications skills; a leader accustomed to a "hands-on" role. Demonstrated ability to manage in a matrix organization.
