The Department of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry provides pre-clinical and clinical instruction to postgraduate dental students, as well as advanced education programs on the postgraduate level. Our academic program also provides opportunities for faculty to participate in intramural and extramural dental practices. Additionally, we actively precure and conduct both clinical and bench research studies. Our commitment is to provide and maintain a high standard of education for our students.Treatment of Prosthodontics patients in a teaching situation.
The Dental Assistant will:- Assist students and faculty in four-handed dentistry;
- Organize and prepare laboratory and operatories;
- Maintain and organize dental supplies and equipment;
- Maintain list of patients with consultation appointments.
Basic Requirements: Vocational /Technical training or Associates degree with 1 - 3 years of related experience. Must be certified in radiology and have basic computer skills. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified Dental Assistant preferred. Should be proficient in taking radiographs. Competent with sterile techniques and reviewing patient history profile. Computer skills including Excel and Word. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Warm and caring personality needed in dealing with patients. A team player and willing to participate in a fast paced and changing environment. Ability to resolve issues. Should demonstrate a willingness to articulate creative and innovative ideas for improving daily clinical activities and laboratory procedures Familiarity with clinical prosthododontics, institution or university experience.
