The Admissions Department manages the application process for 4500 DMD applications, 1000 postgraduate applications and 100 International DMD applications each year. This includes selection of DMD candidates for interviews, as well as coordination for, and participation in, approximately 50 interview days each year and special events.
In coordination with Associate Director of Admissions, the Admissions Officer will:- Review applications, select candidates for interview, and work with Admissions Committee to determine final status of each applicant;
- Provide marketing and communication support for the department;
- Provide support for procedural coordination with the offices throughout the University;
- Plan, organize, and initiate training and scheduling of student and faculty interviewers;
- Work with other admissions staff to coordinate the interview process consisting of approximately 50 six-hour interview days over six months;
- Support and assist with the organization, coordination, and implementation of all internal departmental procedures including, but not limited to, the annual review, production of publications and application materials, processing and reviewing admissions applications, updating the Student Information System database and AClient departmental database, generating computer reports, assisting with facilitation of Admissions Committee meetings, communicating outcomes to applicants, and corresponding with accepted and waitlisted applicants;
- Review and respond to inquiries sent to the office e-mail account on a daily basis;
- Assist with structural and content changes to the school´s website and coordination of new student orientation and registration;
- Represent the university during formal interview sessions and during external cultivation, interview events, and national and regional conferences;
- Provide assistance to Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs and Associate Director of Admissions.
Basic Requirements: Bachelors degree with 2 - 4 years of related experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word. Some evening/weekend work may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced Admissions Office. He/she should be familiar with database software. He/she should be comfortable with public speaking while displaying a high degree of professionalism and tact at all times. Should be able to effectively balance customer service and critical decision making skills and be detail-oriented.
