RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain a portfolio of insurance products that meet the current and future needs of ICO’s clients.
- Develop new insurance products in support of specific insurance programs, tailored to the unique coverage needs of the program. Coordinate efforts with Company client groups and program administrators.
- Perform detailed coverage reviews of manuscript policy language for single risk accounts.
- Provide expert analysis and commentary, and draft amendatory policy language as necessary.
- Coordinate efforts with client groups and other shared service areas as appropriate.
- Provide technical expertise to internal and external clients regarding insurance coverages, policy construction and insurance contract language.
- Manage complex product development projects.
- Gather input from underwriters, claims, law and draft insurance contract language that considers all inputs. Manage the internal review and sign-off process for new insurance products.
- Participate in the monitoring and review of industry, bureau and regulatory changes related to the impact on ICO’s Products.
- Draft revised policy language as necessary to change to ICO’s insurance products.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive knowledge of primary and excess insurance products and coverage offerings.
- 5 or more year’s insurance product development experience, including demonstrated expertise in the review and drafting of insurance policy language.
- 10 or more years experience in P&C insurance environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the insurance product needs of the alternative and non-traditional marketplace (both admitted and non admitted).
- Must be a self starter, and have the ability to manage complex product development projects.
- Knowledge of admitted and non-admitted insurance regulatory requirements.
- Working knowledge of personal computers and software applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients.
- CPCU or other related course work or equivalent insurance industry experience.
