Clinical Affairs supports clinical efforts within the preclinical learning, student lab, and patient treatment areas at the dental school. The efforts of Clinical Affairs contributes to a positive clinic experience for our patients, students, staff and faculty.
The Dental Information Assistant:- Greets patients;
- Interviews new patients over the telephone;
- Records patient demographics in the clinic information system to create an electronic patient record;
- Registers and checks in new, emergency, and existing patients;
- Directs patients to the appropriate locations within the school;
- Answers telephone calls to the school;
- Makes appointments for new patients via telephone and provides information and accurate direction to all people calling the school main telephone number;
- Enters and verifies insurance coverage.
Basic Requirements: High School Diploma or the equivalent with 2 - 3 years of related experience. Familiarity with Microsoft office and basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to prioritize and work with frequent interruptions. Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills. Superb telephone communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Solid commitment to excellent customer service. Ability to make independent decisions while problem solving with patients. Able to interact with a diverse patient/student/faculty/staff population.
