This position is responsible for credit approvals within delegated loan authority and as required, review credit decisions by subordinates. Ensure that ongoing portfolio review is adequate to maintain the loan portfolio’s quality. Act as a resource to loan originators in areas of loan policy, risk analysis, credit structure and terms so that loan proposals are adequately analyzed and structured to meet risk parameters set for the Bank’s portfolio. • Reviews and approves or declines or recommends to appropriate higher authority, Credit Applications for new loans, renewal or modification of existing loans. Ensures that loan requests are underwritten and structured to meet bank lending policies and guidelines. Ensures that deviations from policy guidelines are adequately mitigated to eliminate undue risk. • Provides oversight of designated portfolio to ensure that satisfactory loan quality is maintained. Identifies potential problem credits and works with relationship managers and/or loan workout specialists to restructure the credit and /or minimized losses. • Participates in the establishment and enforcement of loan underwriting and operational policies and procedures. Advises credit and loan personnel on the bank’s overall lending policy, noting significant trends and recommending policy changes, if necessary. • Reviews credit-related internal and external loan reviews and coordinates responses and follow-up as necessary. Has direct interface with credit examiners during the examination process to ensure that examiners are provided with all necessary information; provides explanation of policies and practices as needed.
 
• High school diploma with 15 years related agricultural banking experience required including at least 10 years of increasingly more complex credit administration responsibilities; or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Finance preferred, with a minimum of 10 years agricultural banking experience including 7 years of increasingly more complex credit administration responsibilities. • A high level of expertise in loan underwriting and portfolio management required.
 
Could be open to someone with less than 10 years of experience with track record of demonstrated success.
