About	hopeFound is a non-profit organization founded in 1984 which is dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness among adult men and women. Having grown beyond the original shelter program, today hopeFound provides a wide range of services to help homeless individuals achieve self-sufficiency and secure and maintain permanent housing. Formerly known as the Friends of the Shattuck Shelter, the agency was renamed hopeFound in September 2007 to better reflect the full scope of services offered. The 17 member Board of Directors recently approved a three-year strategic plan and has engaged in a year-long branding review. In 2006, hopeFound served 4,359 people in the Greater Boston area, through a continuum of services including: street outreach; emergency shelter; addiction treatment; job placement; housing; HIV/AIDS services; and linkages to health and social services. HopeFound employs over 100 full and part time staff and 25 program participants, and has an operating budget of $6.1mm with an additional $3.1mm provided by the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in in-kind goods and services.
