Use/adapt analytical methods such as Lean & Six Sigma to understand, predict and/or improve logistics operations and processes. Apply knowledge of Industrial Engineering techniques (time & motion studies, space planning, ergonomics, statistical process controls, etc.) to analyze warehouse processes and identify improvements to optimize labor, space, accuracy and safety throughout the process using lean manufacturing methodologies (fishbone diagram, 5S and FMEA), Solidworks, Gage R&R, Kanban. Developing standard operating procedures. Assist in the development of training and procedures to ensure quality and cost control. Analyzing production lines and saturation points and optimizing production time and reducing labor costs. Maximize the use of appropriate features and configurations of the Manhattan AS400 Warehouse Management System. Author requirements and specifications to modify/enhance the system to support productivity, cost, quality and service objectives. Monitor Distribution Center inventory and analyze requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times and fill rates. Work with the Transportation team to determine logistics and timing of shipments for efficiency improvements. Use the Statistical Process Control, Advanced Quality Process (AQP) tools to identify and help implement improvement to the Supplier Quality.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Engineering Technology and six months’ experience in position offered or six months’ academic, internship or work experience in industrial engineering, industrial production or industrial engineering technology.
Special requirements: Academic, internship or work experience developing standard operating procedures, lean manufacturing methodologies (fishbone diagram, 5S and FMEA), Solidworks, Gage R&R, Kanban, analyzing production lines and saturation points, optimizing production time and reducing labor costs.
