NVH Engineer

NVH Engineer – Responsible for providing technical acoustic and engineering support to UGN's functional groups by performing material and vehicle acoustic tests and supporting the product innovation process. The support will include, but not be limited to: sales, manufacturing, R&D, and purchasing. The specific duties of the position will include the following: Efficiently and properly develop and execute acoustic lab project plans and report on their results. This includes sample preparation, performing tests, reporting and analyzing results, proper archiving of data, etc.; Coordinate with R&D lab and Program Engineering/Quality to collect and report validation data for new product/program launches; Estimate viability of various product options to satisfy RFQ acoustic targets. This may be done through physical testing, referencing historical data, or acoustic models; Support Product Engineering by evaluating acoustic performance of new/revised materials to current standards and developing minimum performance parameters based on customer requirements; Provide acoustic engineering support for process trials, research and development processes, etc.; Coordinate and support internal and customer initiated material investigations; Gather and organize vehicle benchmark information for vehicles that will be coming up for quote and their competitive set; and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements - Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Physics and 5 years of progressive experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive NVH experience in the automotive industry. Special skills - 5 years of experience developing and executing acoustic lab projects and 5 years of experience with project management.
