Senior Engineer, Design – Perform the work of product development of components from idea/concept stage through the start of regular production; Support multiple projects and work with cross-functional teams to achieve total customer satisfaction and to meet quality standards and procedures; Organize and lead productive meetings with associates within and outside the company; Actively works for consensus among team members during problem solving activities; Communicates with customers and provides an excellent level of customer service; Design the vehicle chassis parts to meet requirements; Communicate with supplier on requirements and expectations of performance; Creates and maintains a schedule to meet project milestones; Understanding of the processes and requirements of plant side necessary for successful product development through launch and regular production; Detailed understanding of the processes and requirements of the prototype making process; Detailed understanding of the Sales role in the development process and proper interface with them; Participate in preventive actions where appropriate. Conduct corrective actions and perform problem solving analysis and reporting as required; Responsible for the creation of CAD data (2D and 3D) that satisfies customer and company requirements; Assist in determining and meeting customer requirements, along with the assessment of product performance, manufacturability and cost; Creation and presentation of communication documents for internal and external use; Act as a liaison between customer and other company groups for project development administration; Make technical recommendations that positively affect the direction of a project and the department; Make recommendations to increase both personal and team efficiency and productivity; Maintain a high technical proficiency that meets rapidly changing technologies and skill requirements through self-training, seminars, formal training, schools and technical reading.
Requirements - Bachelor of Science or foreign degree equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of engineering experience. Employer also accepts - Master of Science or foreign degree equivalent in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical engineering or a related field. Special Skills - 3 months of academic coursework, work or internship experience in the following software and programming language: MATLAB/Simulink, CATIA and C/C++.
