Senior Project Engineer – Manage development of turbochargers for various OEM customers. Work with the engineering manager directly by supporting activities within the turbo engineering department in alignment with company goals and objectives. Keep track of multiple projects and priorities of each; assist with company goals and objectives; communicate with customers and determine the appropriate design scheme based on the high technical background and experience; communicate with MHIET designing engineer and recommend appropriate designing direction in considering customer's demand; comprehend typical business procedure in turbocharger development and right/responsibility/support relationship among each sections of company; lead cross functional development team to ensure schedules are maintained for responsible projects; visit customer locations to provide technical support; assist validation testing and provide first had assessment of technical issues; create engineering reports, standards, and procedures; coordinate products launch activities with mother/sister companies (MHIET/MTA, MTEE, SMTC) utilizing APQP principles; communicate design data from the local databases with MHI japan to the customers using such tools as e-mail, ftp and Autoweb; coordinate post-test evaluation of development turbocharger samples; perform teardown inspection and measurement at the MTEA facility and document the findings; and perform other duties as assigned by MTEA management.

Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign degree equivalent in mechanical engineering and 5 years of progressive experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive experience in automotive tier 1 supplier or powertrain OEM. Special skills - 3 years project management experience; 1 year of experience with internal combustion engine air handling and control systems; 1 year of experience with TS16949 quality control principles; and 1 year of experience with GD&T, DFSS, turbocharger product. Occasional travel required.
