Advanced Database Administrators
Analyzing user requirements and defining functional specifications using Agile methodology. Developing, configuring and administering Oracle databases in production and development environments using AWS RDS, Toad, SQL Navigator, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader and Erwin. Conferring with users to analyze and interpret database needs and issues. Leading multiple modeling, simulation and analysis efforts to uncover the best database solutions. Coordinating and implementing database models, dataflow diagrams, database schemas, database scripts, database structures and data standards to support a robust data management infrastructure. Translating business requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models. Tuning complex SQL and PL/SQL queries for better performance, triggers, stored procedures, functions and packages. Creating logical and physical database design using Erwin. Automating job and database monitoring using shell scripting. Analyzing and coordinating capacity planning, space management, storage allocation and storage structures. Developing and implementing test validations of the database. Analyzing test results and recommending modifications to meet project specifications. Participating in the development of database security. Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving database issues identified during the testing life cycle and also by database users. Developing and coordinating the implementation of backup and disaster recovery policies and procedures for the databases. Leading technical training, coaching and mentoring for other team members and database users. Being a technical resource for direct communications to team members in the project development, testing and implementation processes. Formulating policies, procedures and standards related to database management and monitoring transaction activity and utilization. Documenting modifications and enhancements made to the databases as required by the project.
Requirements: Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Information Technology or Engineering and two years’ experience in position or two years’ experience in IT field (or Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ experience).
Special requirements: Experience with administering Oracle databases, AWS RDS, Toad, SQL Navigator, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader and Erwin. Travel to various unanticipated client sites required. May reside anywhere in the United States.
