Advanced Database Administrators
Analyzing user requirements and defining functional specifications using Agile methodologies. Leading the administration of Oracle, SQL Server and NoSQL databases along with Microsoft Azure, Oracle DBaaS and AWS Cloud databases using Oracle database related technologies such as Exadata, Golden Gate, Streams, RAC, upgrades, migration, Performance Tuning, Backup and Recovery, RMAN, Partitioning, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL and PL/SQL. Performing RMAN backup and recovery HA and DR. Upgrading databases and performing patches. Implementing, configuring and troubleshooting database instances, replication, backup, partitions, storage and access. Monitoring and optimizing system performance using index tuning, disk optimization and other methods. Writing and maintaining Shell scripts. Implementing backup and recovery strategies and scripts. Developing scripts for migration and space maintenance. Performing database recovery, database administration (including security), database optimization and tuning. Supporting, administering and maintaining production and non-production database environments. Working with the development and application support teams to identify, triage and resolve performance issues using diagnostic tools. Working with the appropriate teams (Security, Compliance, Internal Audit, and External Auditors) to review security policies, participate in annual audits, and implement the appropriate remediation measures. Reviewing and assessing the impact of database design changes prior to their implementation. Providing technical leadership for other database administrators as needed. Developing and support standards and database design, as well as maintenance, access, and security administration. Recommending modifications to the project scope throughout the project life cycle based on the project status and business issues arising during the project. Being a technical resource for direct communications to the team members in the project development, testing and implementation processes. Developing reports for management for project status, issues and outcomes.
Requirements: Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Information Technology or Engineering and two years’ experience in position or two years’ experience in IT field (or Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ experience).
Special requirements: Experience with administering Oracle databases, Exadata, Golden Gate, RAC, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL and PL/SQL. Travel to various unanticipated client sites required. May reside anywhere in the United States.
