Advanced Database Administrators
Analyzing user requirements and defining functional specifications. Developing and implementing complex Oracle RAC and ASM environments. Creating the Oracle 11g and 12c database architecture and modeling. Leading multiple modeling, simulations and analysis efforts to uncover the best Oracle database solutions and administration using RMAN, Dataguard, Data Pump, Crontab, Golden Gate and Apex. Analyzing and monitoring RAC instances with Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control. Configuring and implementing Oracle Golden Gate based replications through GGSCI. Developing materialized views, functions, procedures, triggers and packages using PL/SQL and SQL to transform data between source staging area and target staging area. Designing UNIX Shell Scripts to collect and monitor database metrics. Automating different types of backups, including RMAN. Coordinating database backups, recovery and security policies. Developing and implementing test validations of the databases. Analyzing test results and recommending modifications to meet project specifications. Participating in the deployment of applications into the Oracle, Cloud and NoSQL database systems using NoSQL database technologies, such as MySQL, DynamoDB and/or Couchbase and AWS cloud technologies, such as Oracle/MySQL RDS, Aurora and/or Dynamo. Being a technical resource for direct communications to team members in the project development, testing and implementation processes. Documenting modifications and enhancements made to the systems and databases as required by the project.
Requirements: Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Information Systems Technology, Information Assurance or Engineering and one year’s experience in position or one year’s experience in IT field (or Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ experience).
Special requirements: Experience with administering Oracle databases, RMAN, Dataguard, Data Pump, Crontab, Golden Gate and Apex. Travel to various unanticipated client sites required. May reside anywhere in the United States.
