Analyzing user requirements and defining functional specifications using Agile methodology. Developing statistical and analytical solutions to compute aggregations of distributed processing systems using SAS, R, Hive and Spark. Developing and configuring files available in the Hadoop Distributed File Systems (“HDFS”). Configuring Hive Oozie to store metadata in SQL Servers. Leading multiple modeling, simulations and analysis efforts to uncover the best solutions. Creating and designing work flows to automate ingestion and transformation processes using shell scripting, Oozie and Hive. Converting JSON files to XML and CSV files. Creating Unix shell scripts to automate the load process to target data warehouses. Ingesting and processing information into HDFS using Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Oozie and Shell Scripting. Designing various components of ETL for various applications. Developing and implementing test validations of the applications and solutions. Analyzing test results and recommending modifications to meet project specifications. Exporting insights from HDFS using Sqoop. Being a technical resource for direct communications to team members in the project development, testing and implementation processes. Documenting modifications and enhancements made to the applications and solutions as required by the project.
Requirements: Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Information Technology or Engineering and one year’s experience in position or one year’s experience in IT field (or Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ experience).
Special requirements: Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, Oozie and Shell Scripting. Travel to various unanticipated client sites required. May reside anywhere in the United States.
