Advanced Systems Administrators
Analyzing user requirements and defining functional specifications using an Agile methodology. Developing, configuring and administering system servers in physical and virtual production environments using Apache Tomcat, Apache Web Server, Red Hat Linux, and UNIX and Linux Shell Scripting. Conferring with system users in order to analyze and interpret system needs and system issues. Developing and implementing Windows scripting and/or Power shell scripting. Building cluster environments for high availability applications and increasing resources to accommodate the application. Leading multiple modeling, simulation and analysis efforts to uncover the best system solutions. Establishing multiple domains across machines, managed servers, Node managers and Cluster environments. Creating the Active Directory and OS internal concepts. Developing and implementing test validations of the systems. Analyzing test results and recommending modifications to meet project specifications. Participating in the development of system security. Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving systems issues identified during the testing lifecycle and also identified by the user. Coordinating the deployment of application software to Linux servers running Tomcat and Apache Web Server. Analyzing performance statistics to recommend hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets. Leading technical training, coaching and mentoring for other teams members and system users. Devising strategy and design for projects associated with web and e-commerce application systems administration, upgrades and deployments. Being a technical resource for direct communications to the team members in the project development, testing and implementation processes. Providing technical guidance and consultations with Developers, clients and management for web system environments. Documenting modifications and enhancements made to the systems as required by the project.
Requirements: Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, Information Technology or Engineering and one year’s experience in position or one year’s experience in IT field (or Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ experience).
Special requirements: Experience with Apache Tomcat, Apache Web Server, Red Hat Linux, and UNIX and Linux Shell Scripting. Travel to various unanticipated client sites required. May reside anywhere in the United States.
